I was first placed in front of women, behind a podium with a microphone, at the ripe old age of 21. Oh, my! What were they thinking? Over 40 years later, life has made me wiser and more “sanctified” — a term we use in my fellowship to identify women of a certain age who have logged a few miles following Jesus.
Through the years, I have been a speaker at women’s conferences and Bible studies. I’ve also given talks to groups of home educators. While I considered my podium days to be a thing of the past, the Lord knew otherwise. In obedience, I’m picking up that microphone again and asking Him to give me the words.
I would be honored to speak to your gathering on any of the topics listed below. I am also willing to prepare a message centered around a topic of your choosing. You can be assured anything I tackle will have sent me straight to prayer and to the Word of God for instruction.
Let’s talk about learning together! E-mail me at email@example.com
Living Well in Exile
Based on Jeremiah 29, I share “Four Be Attitudes” from the life and teaching of the prophet Jeremiah.
Where Faith and Fear Collide
Based on 2Timothy 1:6-7 “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
Telling Our “Slice of Life” Stories
Based on these words from Eugene Peterson, author of The Message:
“Apart from the before, the now has little meaning. Now is only a thin slice of who I am. Isolated from the rich deposits of before, it cannot be understood.”
This topic is covered either as a message or a hands-on workshop using a tool I created to help you capture and tell your “slice of life” stories.
I will join three other area women at The Faith Gathering, March 17 at The Farmstead Conference Center in Shipshewana. Perhaps I’ll see you there!
